Bengaluru is a city with one too many restaurants. All those restaurants mean all that many choices. What happens when all you want is to relish some Butter Chicken or Chole Bhature but you’re spoilt for choices? Fear not, for here’s a list of restaurants in Bengaluru for when you have a hankering for North Indian cuisine.

Situated in Indiranagar (there’s other outlets too), this place is one of the best restaurants in the city serving Punjabi food. Relish their creamy Butter Chicken or Paneer Butter Masala. The place offers a unique decor which stands out and gives you the authentic ‘Dhaba’ experience. You'll be seated on traditional Charpoys and served in copperware, which transports you right to Punjab. Even though it's in the heart of Indiranagar, step in and you'll feel a world away. It's colourful, it's tasty, and it’s all you're looking for a fun hangout.
2. Tandoori Taal

Another gem in Indiranagar, this one’s not too easy on the pocket either. But the silver lining is that the food is worth every penny. Also, it's not just the food but also the ambience that you’re paying for for. With rustic paintings and a unique décor, the dimly lit place surely has a quaint charm. The food tastes amazing and you'll certainly be back for more.

Also in Indiranagar, this one's a reasonable option for those looking to savour delicious North-Indian food. Don't be mistaken, the reasonable price doesn't mean the taste or quality of the food is compromised in any way. Although nothing to rave about, the ambience is clean and modern. So, if you compare it to the others on the list, the place may fail to offer an authentic ambience. But what it fails to make in experience, it more than makes up in food. The variety of food, the quality, the taste, are all exceptionally good.
4. Hello Delhi
In Koramangala, this is a great place which offers an array of options for those looking for authentic Punjabi food. Beat the traffic and get to the restaurant, you'll be rewarded with finger-licking food. It offers a simple and candid experience, but don’t let that fool you, you’ll certainly be back for more. The food is moderately priced and the menu offers options different from other contenders on the list (specifically talking about Sarson ka saag and Makki ki Roti because if you know, you know). Pair their Makhmali kofta with Laccha parathas for a toothsome experience.
5. Delhi Highway

One of high-end options on the list, the restaurant offers a fine-dining experience. Shocker, it’s in Indiranagar too. The exterior exudes grandeur but unfortunately the taste doesn’t live up to the colossal promises the facade makes. The food is good, just not as good as the others on the list. Nonetheless, it offers some of the best the city has to offer. Visit in the evening to really enjoy the ambience; the building looks almost palatial with extravagant lighting and a Mughal architectural style.
Be it a light bite or a full-fledged meal, this place in Indiranagar (there are many other outlets in city) can be your go-to for authentic North Indian cuisine. What sets it apart from other restaurants on this last is the scrumptious menu of snacks it offers. They also offer a pretty diverse menu with options ranging from Chaats and light snacks to Thaalis and Meals. With the sheer number of choices, you may be left in two minds. Their Thaalis are perfect for when you just can’t decide.
7. Rumi
The namesake of a Sufi poet, this place in Indiranagar is actually an Awadhi restaurant. The place can be a hit or a miss but the hits make it worth the gamble. The food is delicious but at times not up to the mark. Not quite sure why there’s a switch in taste every now and then. Nonetheless, the food is worth trying and there’s decent menu options to choose from. The Shahi Paneer paired with the Roomali Roti are the cream of the crop. The restaurant isn’t as popular as others on the list so finding a table will be easy.
